Illa J feat. J Dilla - Shake It Down Part 2
Dwele - Rize
Common - The Bitch In Yoo

I dunno I just get this feeling from Shake It Down Part 2, like I can just put a mic to my face and go off! idk

Rize is just so mellow and relaxing...

And The Bitch In Yoo...MAN. I've NEVER heard Common come at somebody before. I didn't even know he had beef with someone until I heard that. Yea it's old but he had beef with Ice Cube and straight up FLAMED him on this song.

oh no no no my friend, you must not of seen the video they made replying to that song. It was ice cube, mac-9, and I believe nate dog...*sigh*....they obliterated his arse. I really think thats why he went off the radar for so long before poppin back with the "corner". really should youtube that bro, they shot it in a meat choppin factory, blood and raw animals everywhere...and don't get get me started on the lyrics. *sigh* common didn't stand a chance. I mean c'mon, a poet vs ice cube :?:

ON TOPIC

Yael Naim- I believe she's french... girl kicks arse. she sings with a very thick accent but it actually makes the songs better. she even has a few tracks completly in french, and here I thought those french classes would never pay off.

Blackstar - can't call your self a hip-hop fan if you don't listen to dead prez or any of the members from blackstar.

Pillows- koolest j-rock band EVER!! They did like the entire Fooly Cooly soundtrack, which is why its my #1 anime soundtrack right on top of samurai champloo.

i love those guys. though i prefer their last cd A LOT more then faces (i think that's what the new disc was called)

There's quite a few bands on here, that i wouldn't call 'unknown', then again i know a crapload of music.

Here's some stuff i've been listening to A LOT lately, all of which are pretty good bands:

Feeder - An english band with some catchy little tunes. Tracing Lines is one of my favorite tracks off their newest disc

The Myriad - I don't even remember how i found out about these guys. But they're got some really catchy tunes as well

Take The Crown - A pop/punk/alternative/whatever the heck you want to call it group. The singer has a very nassaly voice similar to the singer of AFI.

Blaqk Audio - The singer and guitarist (or is Jade the bassist? i can't remember at the moment) of AFI's side project. It's pretty much a dance/techno disc, with some really great tunes

Ivoryline - a jesus band (yes, that's what i call christian music... but in all honesty i don't care what it falls under. if it sounds good, i'll like it). A friend of mine at work introduced me to their stuff, and i always have the disc on perma loop. Speaking of hey-zeus bands, Anberlin is another WICKED band, that hasn't got the recognition they deserve. They do a pretty sweet cover of Depeche Mode's Enjoy the Silence.

Hmmm.... that's enough bands to list for now.

Name:M.I.A.
Genre: Hip-Hoppy vibes, with that easy listening deal
Favorite song(s): Paper airplanes.

I found out about her, through a commercial for Pineapple Express. She's really cool. Like her music style.

yash, M.IA is kool. she has her own little style, I respect her creativity. her music is very odd though, the genre varies from track to track on her album(s) not all the time for the better. regardless, the girl rox and hope to hear more from her soon.

but to contribute to the site:

Ellegarden- these guys are kool, very fun and zany group. their an azn band that rocks out in english :?: I don't quite understand it either but for some reason they have perfect American accents...i dont even think they've been to America not once. ANYhoo, my boy Do [dough] turned me on to them. he puts me in the loop on anything thats hot over seas. some few more bands from over seas I would refer are bands like....

Snowkel- they have a real all-american rejects feel, except probally with better music structure.

Chatmonchy- these girls ROCK. their at a tie with the 5,6,7,8's for my fav all girl band. (sorry, but the dixie chix don't make the list). they also did the bleach ending song "Daidai", just think back to the only one that had a girl rocking to the vocals. I believe it was during the era where orihime first got caught by aizen.anyhoo, kool chicks.

and I think thats about all i can name just speaking off the dome. now these bands are pretty difficult to download music from so the best way (or fastest) to listen to them would be youtube believe it or not. youtube pulls through, just type in the band and they'll have tons of music videos listed of them.

Lately, I've been listening to a lot of Paramore, Foo Fighters, and the Lostprophets. I like Paramore's songs because they can be really catchy and although I think parts of their lyrics are a bit generic, they really have some truth in them. I love lyrics that the Foo Fighters and the Lostprophets came up with. I don't think they've had anything recently, but they still have some great songs. (The Pretender from Foo Fighters and Almost All Ways by Lostprophets, for example)

foo fighters are kool, didn't they do "my hero" for the Armageddon soundtrack? or was that goo goo dolls..>.>....i always get them two mixed up. I know like goo goo dolls more though, thats how i tell them apart.

ANYhoo

have anyone heard of a group called the "thundercats"? i just recently discovered them, but i can't find any of their new music. their a new group, but their still mostly underground for the moment. their about to blow up though, think they just got signed to def jam. if anyone has any info on them, plz let me know.

Kimya dawson- this girl gets major props, she use to play with the moldy peaches. she's been around for awhile I'm just now discovering her. she has really fun lyrics that seem to stick in your head.
